On Monday April 20th 2009, the Monroe City council unanimously passed a budget which shows in the line item of the Fire Department that there will be 21 personnel, no Ambulance revenues, which would eliminate the ALS & BLS programs and close a fire station per the chief's request of operating at a safe level.
